Soufiane Hayou


Short Bio:

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, and a faculty member of the Data Science and AI Institute, where his research focuses on the foundations and applications of artificial intelligence.

Previously, he was a researcher at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at UC Berkeley and a member of the Collaboration on the Foundations of Deep Learning. Before that, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore.

He received his PhD in Statistics and Machine Learning from the University of Oxford. Prior to that, he graduated from École Polytechnique (France), where he specialized in Applied Mathematics and obtained both an MSc and an Engineering Diploma. He also holds an MSc in Quantitative Finance (DEA El Karoui) from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI).
