Salem Lahlou

Bio: Salem Lahlou is an Assistant Professor in the Machine Learning Department at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi, where he leads a group of 10+ researchers. He completed his PhD at Université de Montréal and Mila, co-developing the GFlowNet framework for diverse generative modeling. His research spans probabilistic and Bayesian machine learning, reinforcement learning, with recent work on LLM reasoning. He holds degrees from École Polytechnique and École Normale Supérieure, and has previously worked at Google Brain Paris and the Technology Innovation Institut
